    • The Investor,

Thank you for visiting our website. In my opinion, the internet and social media are largely responsible for spreading Afrobeats music. Familiar life experiences connect people. Though the location and culture may be different, the struggles are universal. I, for one, am looking forward to seeing what will emerge from Afrobeats artists in the future.

  • Great website, Love the art and the photos. I listen to all kinds of music, probably even afrobeats but didn’t realize it was a genre or name for it. Some of the music I used to listen to in the 80’s was by a artist named Afrika Bambaataa, was that considered afrobeats?   I love the way you break it down to make it easy to understand for readers like me. And yes I love to dance. Thank you for shedding light on this culture.

    • BroBlogger, I am happy that you found this article informative. Afrobeats is relatively new but is being woven into the worldwide fabric of music quickly. I wasn’t aware of Afrika so I googled his name. This is what I found.

“No, Afrika Bambaata is not an Arobeats artist, but he is a key figure in the development of hip-hop and electronic dance music:

Hip-hop Bambaataa is considered one of the three founders of hip-hop, along with DJ Kool Herc and Grandmaster Flash. He was the first DJ to use breakbeats, a style that involves quickly repeating fast-paced drum samples. He’s also known for his genre-blending and innovative turntablism”

Afrobeats is worthy of notice. I am excited about the future of this genre.

  • Afrobeats truly is a fascinating genre with its ability to blend cultures and tell unique stories. I love how it’s not just music but a movement that connects people globally while celebrating African roots. The storytelling aspect is so powerful—it’s amazing how artists can share their culture and experiences through these beats. What do you think about the influence of Afrobeats on Western pop? Has it helped create more appreciation for African traditions, or does it risk losing its authenticity in the mainstream? Personally, I feel it’s a beautiful exchange, and I’m excited to see how the genre evolves!

    • Slavisa, I think that Afrobeats is in its infancy. Its influence is being felt, but it has not yet become mainstream. Many are not aware of Afrobeats or its influence. But with social media and global musical stars embracing the genre, it will take its place on the global scene in short order.

I believe that Afrobeats will evolve as time goes on, as all genres do with the influence of global music and cultures and modern technology.
